This weekend was all about finishing the floor. Nothing too fancy. Just a good sanding and cleaning, followed by four coats of polyurethane, with a light sanding of 320 grit paper after coats 3 and 4.The poly really popped the colors and grains out of the wood. I am glad I didn't stain it. It's now a proper floor ...
MIke,
ReplyDeleteThe floor looks great. Your project is really coming together. How is the futon coming along. Did it all work out OK? You Mom's Baby Huey is in the driveway. We worked on it this weekend. The roof was almost completely black from sitting under the tree at the storage location. I pressure washed over half of it yesterday and hope to complete the cleaning of the exterior today. I will shampoo the carpets and furniture tomorrow and may also treat the rubber roof with conditioner to keep it from getting brittle. Lots of work on the beast but looking forward to the Thanksgiving Camp out.
Glad to hear the Big Boy is home - sounds like you've got your share of work ahead of you too! I didn't get to work on the futon this past weekend. I wanted to make sure the sawdust didn't get into the poly while it was drying. But that's my target for the upcoming weekend. I also have to get my plan in place for the forward bunk and cabinetry.
