A little 'perspective' ...

So I took the drawing that the builder made and brought it into Google Sketchup, and figured out how to work up a 3D model based on what he sent. I found a model of a utility trailer online and adapted it to fit with teardrop. I even imported my Compass Rose decal and slapped it on the side of it. Pretty slick, huh? Click on the picture below to see it full screen ...

This is more or less to scale. I'll also use this to convey my decal placement to the sign maker.

  1. Mike,

First - great job on the illustration. You have a knack for getting the 3D images manipulated to show everyone what things are going to look like. I think the Compass Rose logo and selection of the theme works perfectly. Very professional - and unique.

Your little camper is really going to be something special.

Thanks - Also, I got the "Follow the Project" signup working today.

  2. Thanks Dad, and I'm glad you got the signup to work for you. Sketchup is an amazing little program - does a good job. I've sent the render to the sign maker, as well as sent my compass rose logo (also done in Sketchup) to a colleage who will convert it to a vector file in Illustrator. That way the sign maker can scale it up as big as he needs it to be.
